  • Into the Woods is a musical by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine that intertwines classic Grimm fairy tales—Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk, Rapunzel, and Little Red Riding Hood—linked by an original story of a Baker and his Wife seeking to break a childlessness curse.

  • Act I follows their quest for magical items, ending in "happily ever after," while Act II explores the consequences of their actions when a vengeful Giant terrorizes the kingdom.
