Praise Choir

Summer 2024

Praise choir is an extension of the worship team and the congregation. The praise choir will  help lead with hand clapping, smiling/energy, raising of hands (if felt led), and all the aspects of worship that the worship team leads. There will not be any folders or music used, you must be comfortable learning a part (melody or harmony) by ear. You will have words of the worship songs projected on the back wall. 

Praise Choir will be a once-a-month commitment starting in July. We will join the worship team one Thursday a month for rehearsal and again that coming Sunday for service.
The Thursday rehearsal will run from 5:00pm - 6:30pm (this is subject to change if we do not need the full hour and a half) this will be just the choir to learn their parts, and then we will join with the worship team from 7:00pm-9:00pm to rehearse with them. 

Sunday call time is 8:00am where we join with worship team to run through all the songs quickly again before service starts.  

Dress attire will be Sunday best, nice jeans, no holes, closed toed shoes, no shoulders visible, no T-shirts, no shirts with inappropriate bands or logos etc. same attire as requested for the worship team, and NO WHITE, the lights are not forgiving.

Celebration Choir

September through May

The Celebration Choir is a wonderful way for adults to come together in fellowship and music. We help support worship on Sundays during the 9:00am and 10:30am services 1 -2x a month, for Easter, and for our annual Advent Choral Service. Rehearsals are held on Wednesday nights from 7:00-8:30pm in the Worship Center, and each rehearsal begins with a devotion and prayer.

Every choral season is kicked off with a Saturday Choral Retreat where we join together and get a jump start on all our fall music. All are welcome to join!

Our 2024 Choir Retreat will be on Saturday Sept. 7, 9:00am-2:00pm in the Worship Center with lunch provided! 

The first Choir rehearsal will start Sept. 11, 7:00pm in the Worship Center.

FAQ
Are their auditions? No, there are no formal auditions. Before joining, Katie would like to meet with you to know more about you and your music history, whether that is singing in the car, or singing in choirs for years! She'll ask you to sing some scales with her so she can know where best to place you in the choir.

Do I have to know how to read music? No, you do not have to know how to read music! Some of our choir members learn by ear, or through rehearsals. We will have brief music theory lessons to help teach everyone the basics of reading music. Katie also tries her best to send recordings of the songs, or of individual parts so everyone can listen to them at home as well.

How old do I have to be to join? We accept anyone 18 years and older.
