When I tell, I inform. When I ask, I transform. - Todd Stocker
Coaches help mine out God's transforming work that is already happening inside of you.
Coaches are available to help you discover how God has designed you to be - a unique combination of skills, passions, and callings. Using a variety of tools to guide your personal discovery and mutual conversations, you will walk away with greater confidence in your purpose (personal mission) and what next steps you can take to make a Jesus-like difference in your community and world.
Note: In order to honor you, we are proud to assign same-gender coaches.

Meet Our Coaches
My name is Debbie Johnson. I am a coach because I like helping women figure out what God has called them to do with the gifts that He has given them. I'm a teacher by profession and I manage several vacation rentals for fun! I have 4 adult children and 5 grandchildren. I love it when someone being coached can really see the changes they have made. Coaching has been a truly rewarding experience.

Hi, I'm Joe Newman. I have been a member of OSLC for 27 years. I have taught Sunday School for almost that entire time. I have served on the Board of Directors and Board of Elders. I have served as the Congregation President twice. I also sing in the choir and have helped launch the Backpacks 4 Kids and the OSLC Car Shop ministries. I have been married to Kris for 46+ years and have two daughters and 2 granddaughters. I am retired. I have been in the OSLC Coaching Program for about 3 years and am a group leader. Shortly after we joined OSLC, I was diagnosed with kidney cancer and have had Stage 3 kidney disease ever since. The doctors are baffled about why I don’t need dialysis or a transplant yet. The answer is simple – God has a plan for me. He has a plan for you too and I would like to help you explore what that plan is.

Hi, I am Randy Rochester. I am blessed to be married to Marjie for 41 years. We have attended OSLC since 1999 and have participated in choir for all those years. From the choir loft I have seen many of your smiling faces over the years. My picture is a reminder taken during the musical “The Music Man” that my performance in the barber shop quartet was a dream come true for a wanna be crooner. I have served on the Board of Directors, Board of Elders, and many Faith-In-Action adventures. I am born and raised in this area having attended PLU back in the 70’s. My degree in education helps me train people at Boeing and my minor degree was in sports coaching. I have been inspired by the topic ever since. Recently I have been trained in the area of spiritual coaching, corporate leadership coaching, and personal Inside-Out coaching for an interesting mix of perspectives in this field. I am inspired by the idea that coaching is the opposite of counseling in that it makes plans for your future instead of analyzing the past. God has an exciting future for you regardless of your past and I look forward to exploring those plans with you.

I'm Greg Sutherland. I am a coach because it's one of the things God has called me to do. I didn’t know what coaching was for a long time but I used coaching like methods as a husband, father of 5 children and orthodontist for over 3 decades. Once trained, I was able to improve and fine tune my coaching abilities. As a coach, I listen and ask more questions than make statements. At OSLC I have served as an elder, teacher, and coach and have been involved in the coaching program since it’s beginning. My mission is to help you become all that God has created you to be. I look forward to meeting you.
