What is the Our Savior Endowment Fund?

Why Give to the Endowment Fund? The Endowment Fund will support the transformation of neighborhoods and communities as a direct result of your generosity.
The Fund does not have an end date which means it will last until Jesus returns. Our children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren as well as their friends, families, and neighbors will love God, love people, and live like Jesus as a result of your generosity, long after you have joined Jesus in heaven. As a church, we have been blessed by God in so many ways. Over the years, we have been challenged by God and have learned that we are blessed to generously bless others. We encourage you to pray about a gift to the Endowment Fund. |
Give to the Endowment FundFor many, a gift to the Endowment Fund can be made through a will or estate plan. Gifts of real estate or appreciated stocks can also be made. For more information or questions, please contact Joan Lougheed at 253.531.2112.
Your gift to the Endowment Fund will be added to other gifts received and will help future generations of our yet-to-be-born Our Savior family love God, love people, and live like Jesus where they live, work, learn, and play. |
Frequently Asked Questions
What is an Endowment Fund?
This is an intentionally created fund to be used for missions and ministry outside of our Financial Operating Plan. The Fund is a restricted fund much like your personal IRA, 401k, or 403b. Donation dollars are placed into investment accounts. Interest earnings are then spent for designated purposes. In this way, future generations will benefit from your generosity.
Can the Fund be used for whatever need arises?
No. Funds can only be used for the designated needs outlined by the Endowment Fund Policy. Uses include: mission and ministry initiatives, leadership development, capital projects, and unplanned/unexpected needs.
Does the Fund earn interest?
Yes! The larger the fund balance, the more earning potential there is as the interest is reinvested.
Who oversees and administers the fund?
The Our Savior Board of Directors remain accountable for the fund while an appointed Investment Advisory Committee recommends how best to administer the fund.
How much can the Endowment Fund really help?
The larger the fund's balance, the larger the return. For example, if we have $1,000,000 invested, we could spend $20,000 - $30,000 a year on additional mission and ministry without ever reducing the principle balance. That is a part-time staff person, a full-time year-long intern, a year of undergraduate tuition for a future kids and youth worker, or four years worth of tuition and fees for a Specific Ministry Pastor student. That goes a long way in funding mission and ministry for Our Savior!
